Entry
and exit level criterias
Two
factors on the basis of which testing process has to be started and stopped are
called as entry and exit criteria. It is very much important to have set
criteria for starting and ending testing process because is we will know that
there is no end for testing. Any application cannot be 100% bug free because of
this reason also it is important to have entry and exit criteria for testing.
Set entry criteria allows the testers the plan the testing activities like
creation of test cases, review of test cases, approval for test cases,
preparing test bed or testing environment.
Entry
criteria for testing process:
· Business requirement
should be clear, confirmed and approved.
· Functional
requirement should be clear, confirmed and approved.
· Application should be
ready for testing.
· Testing environment
should be ready.
· Test cases to be executed
should ready.
· Test cases should be
approved if approval is needed as mentioned in test plan.
· According to the test
plan or schedule.
· Testing resource
should be available with specific skills needed for testing.
Exit
Criteria for testing process :
· When all the
functional requirements are met.
· All the major
functional and high priority bugs are fixed and closed.
· All the test cases
have been executed and passed.
· According to the
plan. This criteria is not one of the major factors.
· Budget allotted for
testing is exhausted.
· As per the business
risk factors mentioned in test plan.
